HesGoingToRunAllNite, aka Marty, is a flashy, 15.2hh, 2018, registered APHA, tobiano paint gelding available for sale. He was originally purchased as a calm, young trail horse and has more recently been slowly and thoughtfully started on arena work for about 120 days.
Marty currently goes walk, trot, canter and is started over small jumps including fill. He has balanced gaits and is started on his lead change, which will be very easy to finish- he’s a natural! He is green over fences but is well started on pole work and enjoys his work. Marty wears western tack, is started neck reining, and has been exposed to cattle and the roping pen environment.
He rides with a soft mouth and willing forwardness but takes leg well and so would not be considered "hot". He would be best suited for an intermediate rider as he can still make the odd baby mistake but offers no buck or bolt and is generally unphased by his environment. He will make up into a great beginner horse or could definitely be enjoyed by beginner/novices who are either confident or have guidance. He does not require a program to bring out his best self nor professional riding to remain safe enough for a JR or amateur and will ride quiet after a period of time off without prep.
Marty has a kind and quiet personality, making him easy to work around and enjoyable to spend time with. He would make up as a fantastic JR/amateur hunter type but would be a game partner for any English discipline or a high quality school horse with more training. He’s an excellent trail horse that will cross water, logs, is traffic safe and will go anywhere you ask, quietly and safely. He would make a great family horse and would also be amenable to western games/roping disciplines- although he’s not naturally the fastest type for speed events.
He is sound, sane, blemish free, and ready to be finished in any direction. Marty ties, trailers, is good for vet & farrier and can be handled easily by children and novices. Overall, Marty is an ideal project to make up for personal/family use, an investment, or a versatile piece of a lesson or leasing program.
