AVAILABLE FOR SALE

Maggie is a 16.2hh, 2010, Thoroughbred mare available for sale. Smooth gaits and decent step, Maggie is a comfortable medium ride between woah and go. Takes the leg well and is generally safe with no buck, bolt, or rear. Maggie has previously had 2 foals and would benefit from some physical reconditioning. She has spent the past year being a JRs horse with mixed results. Has done well at a couple horse shows with good results- she's got decent enough form and always jumps. However, a combination of unclear signals and inconsistent program has left this mare wanting for clarity and consistency. Since coming to our program, she has begun to soften and show her true personality to be a willing, conscientious mare who has decent buttons and some solid general rideability and handle that denotes some quality training underneath her slightly confused demeanour.
For these reasons, she would not be suitable in her current state as a school horse and I believe would prefer to build a relationship with one or 2 riders, for now. She would make a decent mount for a JR or AA rider who can give simple, confident instruction. She is not generally spooky or reactive and her general go to "move" is to stop moving. Therefore, not an inherently dangerous problem to deal with and is generally easy to convince her to get her feet moving again without argument. She could also be envisioned as a solid horse for a pro to invest some time in for a future useable lesson/partboard horse with some more corrective riding to clarify her expectations (which she'll be learning with us, as long as we have her!).
She is sound, sane, and easy to have in the barn. Keeps her weight well without anything special diet wise and currently wears a set of front shoes. Maggie is a light cribber which is controlled with a collar. She currently lives inside & on rotational turnout like many of our sale horses, but has previously done well living in a herd.
An affordable mount, that can easily be a low level H/J show partner. Enjoys hacking out, stands to be groomed/worked on, and is a pleasant horse to work with every day. The lead changes appear as if they will be right on the tips of your fingers with more fitness. Price may increase with more training as we uncover more of what this mare can do, but owners are looking to move into something more suitable for their daughter's riding.
