YS Da Vinci is a 2014, registered Canadian Warmblood (Fuerst Greyheart R (Hanoverian) x Aliano (Holsteiner)) gelding available for sale or lease. This familiar face has been through our program as a 3 year old where he was campaigned in the Lieutenant Governor's Cup, qualifying for the Royal Winter Fair. Shortly after his cup debut, he was purchased by a lovely family for their daughter who has since gone to university. Now, this lovely gelding has returned to us to find his next partner!
Standing at 18hh, this gentle giant is every amateur's dream to get noticed in the show ring. Simple and honest in everything he does, he bathes, clips, ties, ships, and rides quietly with big movement. Vinny routinely steps up to the plate for any and all pressure that is put on him, always goes to the jump, and takes care of his rider. In 2021, he completed his first full season on Ontario's A circuit where he was thoughtfully developed through the lows with a pro while also making his first amateur campaign in the Beginner Adults, regularly pinning. He finished the year in the 3ft ring, pinning champion first time out. Vinny prefers a bigger jump to bring out his best effort but is willing to hold someone's hand for the 2'6 job.
In 2022, Vinny transitioned successfully to the jumper ring where he has been campaigned by a professional up to 1.10m and a junior up to the .90m with good results. This year, he was leased out to a junior rider competing in the 1m division, as well as campaigning the silver level Grand Prix (1.10m) classes, the Jumper medals, and hunter derbies. He had multiple pins in large classes at Silver Playoffs.
Vinny has jumped up to 1.30m under saddle with ease. He has a solid flat work foundation and is quite flexible, adjustable, and rideable in lateral work, counter canter, lead changes, and transitions.
